Life is a Picnic

Jared's mom has been here for the past week and we have been enjoying her and granny's company. Thursday night we were able to drive up the canyon to Vivian park to have a KFC picnic. Jared and I didn't realize this park was up the canyon so we weren't very prepared. Good thing Mom brought a sweatshirt. 

We love you mom and granny. 

We enjoyed spending time with you and hearing all the advice you had to give us.

Jacobs 1st 4th

We went to Spanish for to spend the evening with Jared's brother's family this year. And...I forgot my camera! How silly is that. So all these pictures were taken with my phone. So sad. Anyway we had a BBQ with lots and lots of fun. We played the water balloon game where you toss them back and forth with a towel. It was way fun and as always the McLaughlin boys had to ruin it with a unnecessarily violent water fight. But we recovered and started off the fireworks with a firework float made up of vanilla ice cream, pop rocks, and 7up.

When we were all eating our floats Jacob really wanted a spoon and he hung on to it for most of the night.

The older kids had a blast running around and lighting fireworks.

Jacob really liked to watch the fireworks and didn't mind the loud noise. He would startle every once in awhile.

These big kind of fireworks are now legal in Utah and they were everywhere! Thank you everyone for spending lots of money on them and doing them where we could see!

Happy Fathers day

Happy Father's Day all you fathers! I love the fathers in my life and that includes my husband now! He is such a good dad. He loves his son and loves being dad. I started out the morning making him wheat buttermilk blueberry pancakes which were delicious if i do say so myself. Then we were off to church. Jared wore his tie from my mom. It says lots of father's day things like #1 dad and best dad ever!!!

We had gotten each other a wii fit for mother's day/father's day. so I got him a little something. This Dad's root beer and a card.

For dinner Jared had been talking about these chicken burgers from costco that everyone was talking about. I picked some up and we had those. Jared had his with two grilled cheese for the bun and a fried egg. Mine was on flat wheat bread. They were very good.

Jared spent the day relaxing in his jammies... we are not having burgers for breakfast

And then there's my dad. I love him so much. He is the best dad and papa ever! i can't wait to the end of July to spend time with him and my family.

Payson pool

Yesterday we celebrated Jared's birthday and the day started with a trip to the pool. We met Jared's brother there. Jacob had been in a pool once before. It was in Tucson and the pool was heated. So when we got into this pool we aren't sure if it was the cooler water or all the screaming and splashing but he did not like it. Although when Jared's brother Ryan came he took him in and just let him scream and eventually he calmed down... ether from being tiered of crying or getting use to it. All in all we had a good time. 

Payson pool requires plastic pants... i wasn't sure what that meant and was totally picturing rubber or a like a plastic bag but they were these cute little speedo things! lol love it!

We were hanging out with Jared's little niece and she pointed to his tummy and said "you have hair on your tummy" and Jared said "yes i do. do you?" and she looked and said "no want to see?" and then she pointed to Jared's chest and said "you have hair on your boobies" and as we were laughing Jared said "yes i do"

I love what little kids say. Where do they get these things

I made a Martha Stewart 1234 lemon cake for Jared and it was delicious.... 

this one is only a 123 lemon cake because i had some technical difficulties but it still tasted good.

Jean diapers

So cute. But why would you buy them? Well these were in a pack of swim diapers and we needed some swim diapers. Now we have jean diapers. They are a little big so we'll wait to use the rest but they are fun.

He wouldn't stop moving so these aren't the best pictures but you get the idea.
