When It Rains It Pours

Jared took the weekend off so we could do something fun. We decided to go camping! The forecast was in the 80's with isolated thunderstorms and 30% chance of rain... were we stupid for still going?? This is what happened...

We set up camp.

Then we relaxed.

We made marshmallow sticks.

We got these awesome marshmallows! They were crazy!

Tested out our sticks.

We started cooking dinner

It was delicious and right when they were done it started raining.

We jumped into the car to eat. We borrowed Jen and Michael's air mattress and put it in our 7X7 ten and it was crowded! We eventually went back out to finish dinner when the rain slowed down.

Then it picked right back up so we ran into our ten. We played cards, hung out and Jared took a nap.

It finally stopped and we poked our heads out and saw this...

Where did the clouds go? We made s'mores, sat by the fire for a bit and then we threw everything left outside into the trunk so it wouldn't get washed away in the night. Just as we finished putting things away it started raining again. This time there was thunder and lightening and it was raining hard! I was freaking out a little bit. Being 21 weeks pregnant I pee at least twice a night and I was really hoping to not have to go in the middle of the night. I didn't but i woke up in a lot of pain real early in the morning but at least i didn't have to go out in the rain and pitch dark. Jared would probably want me to add that in the middle of the night i woke up and was so uncomfortable i started tossing, turning and kicking my feet while he was on the other side of the air mattress bouncing up and down.

After our early morning bathroom run Jared started a fire for breakfast and i went back into the tent

It was pretty good. I'm not a huge fan of eggs cooked in bacon grease.

There were rain clouds and thunder in the distance so we packed up real fast and got out of there. We had never been to this place before and the campsite ranger guy told us of a few trails we should hike. We were planning on doing it in the morning but it was really muddy and looking like rain so we just went home. One day we'll have to go back.
