Super Man and A Garden Update

Grammy sent us this super fun shirt that has a cape attached to it! I didn't think Jacob would have any idea what it was but right when I put it on him he started running around saying "zoom zoom!"

He then posed with his fist in the air!

I guess he knows what Superman is... unless it just comes programmed in little boys heads.

Today I got the camera out to take some pictures of my growing garden and Jacob said "cheese!" so I took a picture of him.

He thinks its really funny to see pictures of himself with his tongue sticking out.

Here is my growing garden!!
Cucumbers

tomatoes

strawberries

Lots and LOTS of strawberries.

Jacob LOVES to sit in the car and play like he is driving. After all this picture taking I found him like this. looking pretty proud of himself.

We had a fire in our fire pit on memorial day. Burned wood looks cool.

And last here are our little teenage chicks. They are kind of at an awkward stage where they have half fluffy baby feathers and half real feathers.

McLaughlin Farm

We are becoming a very cute little farm. All we need now is a milk cow.
Our chickens are doing well. Bunny (the black one) is a little sick and I am becoming too familiar with chicken bottoms.

I planted my tomatoes today and while I did I noticed this cute little tomato!

Our strawberries are coming in great. I love how I don't have to do anything to them. I have notices some weeds though. We are going to have a ton of strawberries.

Our peach tree has a million little peaches on it. We need to go through and pick them so that the ones we leave will get big... so I hear.

Jacob and Mae love our little chickens. They say the more you play with your chicks the friendlier the chicken will be so I try and get them out everyday.

Today I was taking a lot of pictures so Jacob grabbed my phone and was taking pictures too.

Every time he sees the chicks he crouches down and says "Hi!"

They would run away from him and he would say "wait...wait...wait." With that concerned look on his face.

He started watching a show on my phone and sat down to watch it with the chicks.

Mae just loves them. She chases them. They were almost too slow once or twice. When I held them out to her though she was very gentle.

Chicks

When we bought our house they already had a little chicken coop in the back. We knew we would get chickens some day but not right away. Jared was talking to his brother who has chickens last Saturday when he decided it was time. For family home evening tonight we went and picked out 3 little chicks. We brought them home and while I played with them in the grass Jared got our coop back in working order. They are currently snuggled up together in our little coop cheeping away. I love how cute they are now. I hope I love them just as much when they are big because apparently you have to wipe feces build up off their little bums. Its a common way that chickens die... no one told me this before I decided to get chickens.
Here they are in all their cuteness for now.
At the store there were also rabbits. Jacob really liked those. He kept saying "bunny, bunny" So we decided to name one of our chicks bunny... We will see if it sticks.

Jared tried to get Jacob to hold one. He wasn't so sure about it.

This is where they huddled up until we put them in the covered area with a heat lamp.
