Happy Birthday to me

It was my birthday! Thank you everyone for all the birthday wishes!
My sister made me a red cake which is a birthday wish come true. Red velvet cake is a Wilbanks tradition. I had a heart shaped red cake every year for most of my life. It is a pretty hard cake to make but Jen did it! She's pretty much amazing and it was soo good and i'm pretty sure i ate most of it! Both of our husbands think its the most disgusting cake ever. so sad.

Jared made me my favorite dinner ever. Tostadas made with Amanda's Mexican rice. I could eat it with no meat but Jared is a meat kind of man so we made shredded chicken. Delicioso!
when Jen told Ethan to tell me what they had been practicing he said "Happy cake auntie!"
i think he meant happy birthday but he was just so excited about the cake
gotta love the just out of the shower look
i forgot to take pictures before so this is the left overs... sooo good

Side note...
Ethan loves Jacob. It's so cute and so sad that they aren't together anymore.

We're Moving

Our lease is up and we are leaving the Fongs. It's been a crazy year full of ups and downs living with these crazy people (crazy in a good way) but now that Jacob is here we need a bigger... well we need more rooms. We searched and searched and even played around with the idea of buying but we finally chose a cute little fourplex in orem. Its almost just like our old place. I assume most fourplexes are laid out this way though...
These pictures are mainly for mom but if you're curious here is some pictures of the place. We are moving in this weekend and then it will take some time to make it cute and then i will post some more pics of our home.

this is the front door. We are on the bottom. I probably should have taken a picture of the whole building...
This is right when you walk in. Starting from the left we have a coat closet, the kitchen, the wall where i'm thinking about putting the tv and then the hall that leads to the bathroom and two bedrooms.
This is still the living room. I'm standing by the coat closet
Kitchen (left) Hall with linen closet (right)

Bathroom/laundry room
This is Jacobs room. when looking at the hall picture its on the left.

 Our bedroom
Our closet has these shelves on the side
 The back door
 and the parking lot

The end.

New Toys

Jacob is getting more interested in things and I read that babies see contrasting colors best. So I went out and bought these little bug toys that are super cute. They have cute little faces and they each make a rattling noise. As far as i can tell he enjoys them.

One Month!

...And a week.
Sorry i'm not very good at blogging but Jacob is officially one month.
Here is an updated picture of him for you all.
I'm pretty sure he smiled at me yesterday. A real smile. Not just a gassy smile.
I think his eyes might stay blue...
And here he is all stretched out. he still fits in newborn things but his arms are too long (which is always the problem for his dad when trying things on) and his body is almost too long.

Nap Time

Jared is not a fan of waking up in the night with Jacob and I. Especially when he works a shift till 10 at night and doesn't like to go to bed right when he gets home. So he takes a lot of naps. I've been sick so I decided to lay down and take a nap with him. I don't nap very well. It ended up being just a restful time staring at my boys. Usually Jacob likes to nap on daddy's chest but I was supposed to be looking after him so i put him next to daddy. I can't help but take pictures of these times.

A walk in the cold

I bought this for Jacob while pregnant thinking its super cold here and it was super cute. He hadn't worn it at all so we decided to go for a walk so we could use our stroller for the first time and he could wear this suit.

Sorry about the red eye

I could not stop laughing. He had a long sleeved footy onsie on underneath this that was fleece. He looked like th kid on the Christmas Story. He couldn't put his arms down and if he could walk he'd be waddling.

3 Weeks

Jacob is three weeks old today. He's accomplished a lot in his first three weeks of life...
He got a social security card
He got a birth certificate
He gained about half a pound (he's weighing in at 10 pounds and an ounce)
He grew an inch... or he wasn't stretched out enough at the hospital.
He met his great granny
He had his first trip to costco
and he's peed on lots of things including his face, daddy and daddy's side of the bed.
Here's some pictures

Thanks Missy for all the clothes! these onsies saved me

He mostly sleeps with his mouth open.

this is his favorite way to sleep. after a nice big burp he's out like a light.
